In loving memory of Alfredo Vannucci, whose vision and dedication built more than structures — he built a legacy.

In 1966, Alfredo and his wife Maddalena got married, and together, they embarked on a journey from Italy to Canada, arriving with dreams and determination. Five years later, in 1971, they founded Van-Al Construction in Kitimat, British Columbia.

Over 42 years, Van-Al Construction, a partnership between Alfredo’s skilled homebuilding and Maddalena’s efficient management, would build approximately 170 homes with their son Robert Vannucci, significantly shaping the Kitimat community.

A Legacy That Continues

What began as an immigrant dream in 1966, blossomed into Van-Al Construction in 1971. Through decades of unwavering commitment to excellence, Alfredo's craftsmanship and Maddalena's business acumen created not just homes, but a cornerstone of the Northern British Columbia community.

Every one of the 170 homes built stands as a testament to their partnership, integrity, and dedication to quality.

Alfredo lived with passion and purpose—a builder whose hands created with artistry and skill, whose curious mind was always exploring the next project, and whose strength of spirit inspired everyone around him. He taught us what it means to live with integrity, to love deeply, and to face life with strength and grace.

Van-Al Construction will continue in 2026 under the leadership of Alfredo and Maddalena's grandson, Marcus Anthony Cyganiak, honouring the values and vision established over half a century ago, while evolving to serve the next generation of builders and homeowners online.
